Grant Award

    You will notice there is a new sign at the Norse Drive entrance.  WHOA applied for and was awarded a $2,000 grant by Columbia Green for improvements to our five entrances.  We planted plants, enriched the soil, added mulch and have completed the project which took a year.  The plants are sleeping until spring awakens them for the year.  Homeowners adjacent to each side of the 5 entrances have agreed to water the new plants several times a week until they are established, which should be about a year, especially during the HOT summer season.

    Be sure to visit the entrance ways, let those homeowners know how much we appreciate their efforts to make sure the new plants don’t wither and die.  If you appreciate, as we do, how much better the entrance ways look, give your neighbors a shout the next time you see someone watering, fluffing the pine straw or even pulling those unsightly weeds. Don’t forget your dues also help pay for keeping The Woodlands entrance ways clean, organized Crime Watch, arrange for CleanSweep and Neighborhood Yard Sale and keep residents aware of happenings in the Northeast area.

(To date 1-31-2012 only 100 residents out of 280 have paid dues)
